PowerPoint Presentations Michigan Action for Healthy Kids
Coalition Meeting Team Nutrition Grant Training, October 3, November 1, 2006 Healthy School Action Tool Facilitator Power Point - This presentation is for trained HSAT facilitators to use when working with school teams and was presented to you during your HSAT facilitator training. This will help your team understand the need to make the case for creating a healthy school environment and how to accomplish this. Dayle Hayes, MS, RD, is an award winning author, educator and pioneer dietitian in electronic communications. She has been the keynote speaker at many Michigan conferences, including the 2002 Michigan Team Nutrition Workshop and the 2005 Eat Healthy + Play Hard = Smart Students conference and a series of Local Wellness Policy regional meetings (including handouts). Her PowerPoint presentations outine the benefits of promoting nutrition in schools, provide information getting started and building a strong team, as well as highlight facts and research supporting the need for school nutrition programs.Children's Health: A Call to Action, What Schools Can Do - This is a "Show to Go" presentation designed to educate school boards, school administration, teachers, nurses, counselors, food service, coaches, community organizations, parent groups, and others on current overweight and obesity trends, the challenge ahead and a call to action. This is a great tool to use when educating others on the importance of addressing children's health and seeking action. The presentation is designed to take about 15-25 minutes and includes speaker notes. There is a presenter evaluation and an audience evaluation. Please complete the presenter evaluation and fax back to the number listed on the form. This presentation was developed by West Michigan Action for Healthy Kids, March 2005. |
